Season 1, Episode 9: Kathy Khang
Is being called a racist the worst thing that can happen to you? In this episode, Kerry talks with Kathy Khang, author of Raise Your Voice, about how white people can press through the discomfort of racial conversations.
Kathy Khang, a columnist for Sojourners magazine, is the author of the forthcoming book Raise Your Voice and co-author of More Than Serving Tea (InterVarsity Press, 2006). She blogs at www.kathykhang.com, tweets and Instagrams as @mskathykhang, posts at www.facebook.com/kathykhangauthor, and partners with other writers, pastors, and Christian leaders to highlight and move the conversation forward on issues of race, ethnicity, and gender within the church. Kathy also has worked for the past 19 years with a national parachurch organization.
During the intro segment with Aisha, Kerry makes also makes a totally white confession: is this work actually doing more harm than good? Listen in to this one but be warned -- we get a little explicit in this one.
It's a safe place to unpack your privilege.
